When I photographed Lighthorse Adventures - I wanted their ethos to shine through all of the images

They use strong, purpose bred horses to safely carry riders of all levels of experience through the incredible Lord of the Rings scenery on the Dart River bed.

The guides of Lighthorse are passionate about natural horsemanship and I've never encountered such high priority for the horses comfort. Using only rope halters and no bits, barefoot with strong hoof boots to protect the horses feet on the river bed and all of the horses wear well made, comfortable saddles. 

All of the horses are in a large herd together where they spend their down time and all of the guides are incredibly lovely & knowledgable.
